"the Soul is like a woman standing on the banks of a river trying to find an inner voice to advise her which way to go. Eventually, she realizes that wisdom is only to be found in the depths, never on the surface, in risking mistakes, and trusting nature as alive.”
- Helen Luke
I am beginning to really understand the power of my intuition. Not only as a guide for my life, but as a way of understanding my place in the soul of the world. Anima Mundi, or "the soul of the world," is a latin phrase that holds an intrinsic truth of the interconnectedness of all living things on the planet. A belief that all things on this planet are as animated by soul, just as the human body is. In other words, spirit is connecting us all.
In a world that seems to have unlimited connectivity, we seem to be further away from this idea of true interconnection. Where one, spirit, soul, Being, is not more important than the other, but that we are that and that is us. We are not separate from the natural world, and yet the way we move through our day to day lives, would suggest we have forgotten.
So how do we Remember?
How do we come back to the place that mirrors the truth of our soul, and it's relationship to the soul of the world?
Well, that is the question I have been asking myself for years and so I began. I went back to where I came from, where we all come from. I sat on top of mountains, I floated in icy rivers, I communed with the wild ones of the woods, I slept in ancient forests alone, and I listened. I let the stories living inside of me be mirrored by the ancient wisdom that is the soul of the world. I let the un-truths be taken by the rivers to be alchemized and returned to the Earth. I handed all the narratives and cultural conditions I could unbury, over to Her. It was in those moments that I began to hear my own soul, deep from within. And then I knew. I knew that this was where I began, the 'I' that is connected by nature and not the internet. I began to trust myself, the wisdom that lives inside of me, that always has, began to surface and I cultivated a trust in myself that was deeply familiar but just as deeply neglected.
So I spent years reclaiming the lost parts of myself. The parts I had abandon, the parts that were stolen, the parts I hadn't even met yet. I was all there, on the silent, dark forest floor, at the top of a mountain, in the eyes of the Raven. I learned to live with the natural cycles of the seasons. I was in it all and it was shown to me every time I sat in reverence with of the WILD. I now know a new level of trust in myself and I have begun to see my true place in the Anima Mundi.
This is the journey of WILD.
If you feel the call, the jump in your belly, the deep knowing that are parts of you that need to be reclaimed. That you intuition needs to be heard. Then join me for an information session Thursday, September 26th @ 7 PM on Zoom. The next cohort begins December 2024.
