A Therapeutic Approach to Yoga

We will explore optimal ranges of motion for the spine, hips and shoulders to increase mobility and stability and to decrease pain. You will begin to understand how you may be moving with compensations in the body and how that can create excessive tension and possible pain. As you uncover some of these patterns and explore moving differently, you may find your pain is reduced and you are able to move with more ease. You will also learn how to cultivate relaxation through the exploration of breath. In Yoga Strong and Functional Flow we build on these foundational principles to build strength while maintaining a mindful approach to movement.
